About Us

We, SemiVi, are a small company working on development of various software tools for the simulation of optical and semiconductor devices. SemiVi was founded by Dr. Sc. Saurabh Sant in the town of Zollikon, on the north shore of scenic Lake Zurich in Switzerland.

Our Goal

The name, "SemiVi", stands for Semiconductor Vision or alternatively Semiconductor Vivek. Vivek is a Sanskrit word meaning wisdom. The name reflects our goal, which is, to equip Semiconductor Researchers with user-friendly Simulation Softwares so they can advance in their fields. We aim to develop collaborative relationships with the researches to fullfil their specific software requirements. Thus, if you have the need for a specific functionality in Semiconductor Simulation Tools, please feel free to reach out to us. We strive to enable hardware-acceleration using modern Graphics Cards in each of our software products.

People

Mr. Saurabh Sant, Dr. Sc. ETH

Mr. Sant was born and brought up in Mumbai, India. He completed B.Tech. in Electric Engg. with Honors from Indian Institute of Technologies Bombay (IITB), M.S. in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electronics and Photonics, and Ph.D. thesis in Semiconductor Modeling both from ETH Zurich .
Mr. Sant gained crucial industrial R&D experience of Semiconductor Power Device Simulation during his nearly 6 years stint at Infineon Technologies AG, Munich. He began as a Senior Concept & Simulation Engineer climbing the corporate ladder to become Senior Staff Engineer.
As a passionate semiconductor researcher, Mr. Sant has worked extensively on TCAD Modeling and Simulation of Power MOSFETs, nano-scale MOSFETs, Tunnel-FETs, photonic and plasmonic LASERs, HFSS broad-band Spice modeling of Power Boards, ab-initio DFT modeling of materials and so on.
In SemiVi, Mr. Sant brings his 14+ years of experience of Semiconductor Modeling to develop optical and electronic simulation packages with built-in hardware acceleration while still giving top priority to user-friendliness.
